Firefly Aerospace, an innovative space company led by Max Polyakov, is about to revolutionize space launches and make them more affordable.

How Firefly Aerospace company and Max Polyakov establish rocket building in Ukraine

Firefly Aerospace is a U.S. company that works in the sphere of producing ultralight vehicles for space launching. Ukrainian division is lead by Max Polyakov.

The Firefly Aerospace's goals

Firefly is well known for creating Revaer engines that were successfully tested in California. This achievement is considered a massive breakthrough for the space launching industry as many companies worldwide are interested in using this technology for their purposes.

Undeniable profit of using Firefly Aerospace crafts

An independent entrepreneur Max Polyakov reestablished this company in 2017. Later, it attracted investments of almost $100 million. Firefly's ultimate goal is to get rid of extensive and costly rockets for single launches. Instead, the idea is to use light spacecraft for multiple flights and delivery of small objects, such as satellites.

Perspectives of this space program

Headquarters of Firefly Aerospace is situated in Austin, Texas, while its R&D department works in Dnipro, Ukraine. This company actively experiments with a variety of industrial and technological developments. SpaceWorks reports that around 300 space satellites ranging from 1 to 50 kg in weight are delivered continuously into Earth orbit. They are used for various tasks, and their delivery is conducted by small spacecraft.

Economic side of space delivery

There is no secret that space launches have always been quite expensive. Even though space flights intended for distribution of satellites into Earth orbit become relatively casual, most of the time, it costs too much money. In this light, Firefly Aerospace's vehicles seem to be a logical decision as these technologies are much cheaper than Falcon 9 by SpaceX, for example. What is more, these space vehicles are capable of delivering relatively large cargoes up to 4 metric tons and bringing them to Low Earth Orbit. The secret is a modern engine and well-crafted technical aspects of Alpha rocket.

Location of the company

Firefly Aerospace, led by Max Polyakov, is based in Dnipro and located within the territory of the "Sfera" plant. Nevertheless, the company itself is not a plant. After all, Firefly Aerospace does not sell vehicles or component parts. Instead, it organizes space delivery and launches various cargo types into space. This company's central sphere is developing new possibilities to make space delivery more comfortable and carefully optimized. This fact concerns both the general procedure and crafting details for rockets and other space vehicles. In other words, the main focus is still on research, not on sales.

Professional and well-experienced crew

Around 200 people work in the Ukrainian division of Firefly Aerospace today. The team consists of engineers working in design and projection, specialists in the lathe, millwright, and milling. All of them are qualified and well experienced in rocket building and space launching.

In general, researches provided by this company are focused on creating new details for rocket launching as well as optimization and customizing the existing ones. For instance, all Alpha rockets are built using valves developed by the Firefly Aerospace division in Ukraine. The company plans to expand its production facilities and set a wide range of various activities in the field of rocket building in Ukraine.
