Max Polyakov has organizations which launch rockets into space and process satellite data. He is looking forward to closing the chain value of data-analytics by purchasing a satellite inventor.
After space technology came about, human beings looked for how to explore various planets. More than sixty years back, the Apollo missions brought a new humanity era. During the framework of Apollo and Gemini missions is when people arrived at the moon for the first time.
The 1st landing of US people on earth satellite was the start of the path to the goal, exploring space thoroughly. Mostly because of this, some years back the aerospace company formed the Commercial Lunar Payload Services project. It was formed with a budget of two billion dollars to involve commercial organizations in upcoming missions.
Since 1972, Donald Trump was the 1st head of state to say something about flights and establishing colonies to Mars. Exploring the moon, however, still remains a priority. At the beginning of 2018, President Trump signed a directive to go back to exploring objects in space. Among the things done to attain this goal is creating an orbital platform Deep Space Gateway, filled with people.
Last year in November, NASA picked 9 aerospace organizations and startups which will deliver cargo to the moon surface. Among the chosen organizations were Lockheed and Firefly Aerospace by Max Polyakov. Besides that, NASA allowed Moon Express and other organizations to take part in the LunarXPrize contest.
The administrator of NASA stated that the company will depend on what private companies are able to do. More conditions for getting government orders will be revealed later.
Firefly Aerospace which is one of the chosen organization got saved from going bankrupt by Max Polyakov in 2017. Currently, it is creating carrier launchers Beta and Alpha and there are plans to form a spacecraft called Gemma which is reusable.
Firefly head office is in Texas and it also has a researching location in Dnepr, Ukraine. Besides that, it has offices in Washington and Tokyo. Firefly Aerospace is among Noosphere Ventures fund projects where Mr. Polyakov is among the leading associates. And on top of launching vehicles, the fund additionally invests in the processing of data gotten from satellites. This data is used in EOS Data Analytics.
As per Envision Intelligence, the worldwide geospatial analytics market was around 2.8 billion dollars in 2018. By 2025, it is likely to go up by 31.8 percent. This is mostly due to access to a bigger data set intelligence and competitiveness brought about by advanced technologies.
The project of EOS is creating a cloud platform which analyzes images from satellites. It is capable of visualizing information, put it together with various sources of data, convert information into several formats, tables and more.
With space technology, the organization can make a great contribution to the advancement of fields like ecology, insurance, agriculture, alternative energy, and logistics.
For instance, with EOS software, people can observe ice covers changes and this assists in making informed decisions regarding the changes in climate. Services of border control can use satellite analytics to stop violations at the state border. The toolkit by EOS assists in detecting early fires and avoiding huge fires. Insurance companies may use pictures from satellites to analyze risks from lose of crop when flooding happens. Also, environmental companies can sense huge levels of waste in the ocean and many more.
Thus, Noosphere Ventures goes to its objective, offering many services that are related to the geospatial data qualitative analysis. And in all this, it is only the satellites that are missing.
Max Polyakov talked about signing an LSA agreement with SSTL. The agreement for providing services for the launch of spacecraft between organizations involves using Firefly Alpha rocket for the withdrawal of SSTL spacecraft.
SSTL is a manufacturer of satellites which is part of the biggest aircraft manufacturing organizations, Airbus. Its headquarters are in the UK. SSTL offers space missions for roles like earth observation, navigation, communications and maintaining equipment in the Earth orbit. The space organization creates affordable satellites for launching into orbit. The organization hires five hundred individuals.
From 1981, SSTL has designed and launched over fifty satellites for twenty clients around the world. It also provides teaching and development programs, consultation services and missions for NASA, ESA, commercial customers, and international governments.
The contract of Firefly and SSTL means that 6 rockets will be launched over two years, 2020-2022. Alpha will be capable of delivering up to one ton of cargo into orbit. This is higher compared to what other missiles designed by other companies deliver.
The chairperson of SSTL said that the company is confident in working with Firefly and there is a possibility of more spacecraft launches after the contract is over.
In an interview, Max Polyakov stated that the facilities of the company allow for 8 flights in 2020 and 18 in 2021. Launches like this will give Firefly a chance to the missions done together with SSTL and they can also assist in finding new clients who would want to use their missiles. The new partner is York Space Company.
In October, Firefly revealed the coming together with York Space Company which is a satellite developer.
Their partnership will offer a one-stop shop for organizations which require small satellites. So, York Space will create satellites and Firefly will bring them into orbit.
York Space is creating a line in satellites class weighing sixty-five kilograms. Satellites like those can handle a payload of up to eighty-five kilograms with power watts of 100. 4 S-Class satellites can fit in a single Alpha from Firefly. The launching of the 1st S-class satellite, Harbinger is expected in 2019 from the launch part at Vanderberge air base, America.
Telecommunication organizations currently need to use huge launch vehicles to send small equipment into orbit and the secondary payload. Firefly was created to offer economical and efficient launches of small loads into orbit for the less-served market of small satellites. Many professionals at Firefly are aviation engineers that have worked in distinguished organizations like SpaceX.
Each time, Max Polyakov and his company get closer to their objective. At the end of 2018, they announced the finishing of the Launch and Mediation Services (LBSA) agreement with Spaceflight. Spaceflight is the top supplier of space LBSA in America.
Recently, the organization finished a dedicated SSO-A Ride Share mission and set a different standard for the integrated consolidation and deployment of satellites.
Spaceflight offers many services related to space activities. Among them are satellite infrastructure and maintenance of rideshare launches that enable companies to perform space missions within their budget. The company also provides industries services in America via a worldwide network of associates, carrier rockets and ground stations. One of the suppliers was Firefly.
The company of Max Polyakov believes that working together with Spaceflight will offer aerospace organizations and people access to earth orbit resource.
A group of experts of Max Polyakov was brought together by one objective. Their objective is to excel in delivering small loads to the orbit of the earth and set ambitious objectives in the space business. They are looking forward to getting the satellite platform manufacturer so that they can create their own spacecraft without research tools. As per Mr. Polyakov (leading partner at Noosphere Ventures), the fund hopes to come up with a perfect product for clients and close the value chain at the analytics date.
